Today, after having spent years staying in school, working hard to achieve good grades, and avoiding all the bad kids, my mom accused me of having no direction in life and complained about how I haven't given her a grandchild yet. I'm 19. FML

I'm in the final months of high school and while everyone is enjoying the last days, I'm sat here being a "good" son, listening to my parents argue, maybe divorcing. I'm in tears and can't go out as I'm not invited to anything anymore. FML

Today, we found out that my 13-year-old cousin is pregnant. My mom then turned to me and asked why I decided to wait so long. I’m only 20. Instead of being worried that this young girl has potentially ruined her entire life, my mom just complained that her sister "gets to be a grandma first." FML

She's not just a fairly odd parent, she's a fairly ******-up parent. I thought most parents these days wanted the exact opposite of this, especially considering that having children holds you back from a good number of your plans. OP, just show her you mean business; succeed like a mofo and change her mind.

The lack of direction comments will end eventually, as at 19 OP is quite possibly between high school and life. Either an entry level job in the career path you want or a solid dedication to a university major she sees as leading to one will fix that complaint. Her desire for grandchildren will follow OP for life. Once her mother find out how much fun they are she'll only wasn't more.
