Greasy greasy spot spot

By Whoops - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom

Today, I was getting a haircut. The lady accusingly told me she'd have to thoroughly wash my hair before she started, as it was way too greasy to cut through. FML

Unless you've planned to get your hair washed at the hairdressers, you should always wash it beforehand. It's just common courtesy.

Why do people assume it's a sign of poor hygiene? Sometimes you can have greasy hair even when you wash your hair once a day or every other day (though washing your hair that much can often make the problem worse)

Exactly. It's not all due to hygiene. It can be a sebum condition among other things.

We are assuming that OP has poor hygiene and his head is so greasy you have to put a towel behind it before he leans back on the couch? Right? Or maybe, just maybe, he showers like most of us (except the commenter the other day that only baths 5 times a week) and the stylist was just being rude. Bizarre, how people are so quick to judge YDI when cleanliness come into play.

Likely because we all know dozens of greasy, stinky people for every person with a legitimate condition relating to their hygiene that we meet. I've had to give the "shower when you get to the shop or get fired" ultimatum to three different employees. None had a medical condition, they just didn't wash unless forced.

To be honest, every time I've gotten a haircut in the UK, I've had my hair washed by the hairdresser, even when I washed my hair that morning.

Big deal, she should be washing it anyway before she tries to cut it because cutting it while it's wet would be easier and leave less room for mistakes.
