Greasy greasy spot spot

By Whoops - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United Kingdom

Today, I was getting a haircut. The lady accusingly told me she'd have to thoroughly wash my hair before she started, as it was way too greasy to cut through. FML

I intentionally leave my hair unwashed because they always wash it with nice shampoo and give a head massage. I guess this place doesn't normally do that lol.

I have a hard time believing that it is actually possible to be too greasy to cut through, no matter how filthy it is. Also, you shouldn't wash your hair more, just with better products. The more you wash, the faster it will get greasy because the scalp is trying to make up for the lost sebum by producing more. Bodies just aren't very good teamplayers.

It's not that you literally can't take a blade to it, it's that it's too caked with grease to cut it properly.

Yeah, I really don't see why this is a FML. You may just be a lazy ass. Plus it's the best feeling ever to have someone else wash your hair.

I have always been told by hairdressers that it's best to not wash the hair before you come in/have 2nd day hair because it's easier to cut, but it's not supposed to be greasy and dirty...

#145 i'll agree that most of the store bought products do more damage then they help. Trust me i have gone through so many products and all did worse then help..even the high class stuff. I ended up trying organix and i refuse to use anything else now. That shit works. Sorry going way off topic, but i'll appoligize if i made it seem that all hair dressers try to swindle more money out of people. Never ment it that way =)

Most of the time, hairdressers just wash your hair when you come in, because wet hair is easier to cut straight whereas dry hair can be flyaway. So if your hair was really greasy... that should be closer to wet hair than dry, and should actually make it easier to cut. Probably not as pleasant to touch, though.
