You'll get over it. Maybe you need to make some new friends or grow closer to the people you invited. It's not the end of the world so you'll be fine.
Maybe it has something to do with the pandemic going on? My office is doing an in-person thing in a couple weeks and I’m not going because I’m taking care of an immune-compromised family member. People from your work may have various situations or just be generally uncomfortable being in a large crowd just yet. I’ve turned down numerous social invitations for the same reason. It definitely sucks, though, and I get it. At the least, they could have let you know that they wouldn’t make it. I’m sorry you put in all that effort for no one to show up (from work...but were there other people like friends and family? Hopefully the event wasn’t a total loss!) But hopefully you can move past it and focus on enjoying the feeling of living in your new home - Congratulations on that part of it! 🍾🎉😄
Two words: Delta variant Get a grip, there’s still a pandemic going on.
At work it's just acquaintance, don't fool yourself thinking it's friendship.
How many RSVPs did you get? Oh, you didn't request them? If you don't ask for an RSVP, people think it's like an open house and you don't really give a shit whether they come or not.
Even with the pandemic, that sucks my friend. Maybe its a good opportunity for you and your lady to spend more time socializing with current and new friends? idk. Anyways, sorry about that, I would be bummed too
YDI for throwing a housewarming party during the pandemic.
