I guess all your dads proof would be given by David Copperfield (not the book)...
My sister and my cousin watched and believed the same thing. FYL for having to live with that...
That's okay. My sweetie believed it too and she is a very successful attorney. I'm not telling her any different. :-)
They are just science fiction based on the Aquatic Ape Theory (AAT). Surely he can see the CGI in the 'documentary'?
Hey. I guess you didn't see the documentary on APL that I saw. I couldn't say that I believed everything they were showing, as it could easily be something else or be faked but at the end, they made a point I couldn't shake. Over the past thousand years +, people from all over the world have created drawings of such a creature, quite similar to each other and they didn't have telephones. So how did people across the world, report seeing almost the exact same thing, without knowing what the other person saw.
The same can be said about many mythical creatures. Dragons for example. Doesn't mean they're real, it just means that people had overactive imaginations. I mean, it's not like fish+man is such a bizarre concept that it's impossible for people to just make it up. There are a lot of man+animal creatures in mythology (minotaur, centaur, ect.), but just because they're common in mythology doesn't mean they actually exist.
#121 you mean to tell me the dragon type fossils that have been found are fake?
With the number of people that are likely to take this sort of thing seriously, I have to wonder why Animal Planet even bothers making it.
I saw that one. It was pretty convincing as a documentary. I had to google it, and found out that way. Let your dad believe theres mermaids, it's fun to believe in stuff.
Get your dad a tin foil hat now. That'll hold him over

Eh, who said mermaids aren't real? They could be.
What?! Are you telling me that mermaids don't exist? Next you'll tell me that Santa is imaginary as well!
