Today, I was at IKEA with my parents. I walked away from them and later I heard the speaker of the store call my name asking me to come to the playground because my mom and dad were worried. I'm 18. FML

I keep seeing FMLs like this... Does no one have a cell phone? And what is up with parents these days!?

Maybe don't go shopping with mommy and daddy in the future. You're a big girl, right? That means you can pay for your own stuff. Cry me a river.

#13 all the Ikeas in holland have playgrounds

ever think that jsut maybe she was helping them pick out new furniture? or vise versa? sometimes its nice to have the second opinion of a family member, because theyare usualy the most honest. i may be wrong, but just a thought.

So I hope you were at IKEA to buy furniture for your new apartment... cuz you're moving out... right?

#13 They were in IKEA, If my conjecture serves me right, to get furniture so she can get out of their house. and if her folks were paying for it, they gotta know what they are paying for.

Haha. That totally happened to me when I was 16. Turned out my mom was just ready to leave and didn't want to wait for me. #13... wow. That's all I can say.

Christ when I went shopping at that age my parents would say we are leaving at such and such a time. If I wasn't there they would leave without me. Be grateful they had you called on teh speaker to take you home. My father wouldn't think twice of having me find a way home if I didn't listen to his instructions.

@15 - my point was, why isn't she paying for the stuff herself? If she's strapped for cash, there's no law requiring her to get brand new furniture. Thrift stores have great deals on used, but still clean and functioning furniture. I don't have any sympathy for spoiled brats.

No one said anything about OP not having money. They said that maybe she/he needed a second opinion on what to buy. Have you never asked a parent or relative for an opinion on something? Cause I'm sure most everyone has at least once. Please, don't be so rude for no apparent reason.
