Today, I was at IKEA with my parents. I walked away from them and later I heard the speaker of the store call my name asking me to come to the playground because my mom and dad were worried. I'm 18. FML

I keep seeing FMLs like this... Does no one have a cell phone? And what is up with parents these days!?

#25, I would've said it was more like losing your kid in a corn maze with arrows telling you where to go.

also lots of assumptions as to what the OP was doing at ikea and being spoiled...maybe the parents were buying things and she just felt like going along especially if it was for the house and she lives with them..i go shopping with my parents sometimes.

You know, people can get abducted, no matter what their age. Especially little 18 year olds, with their nubile young flesh. Just a thought :3

ikea is huge, i'd be worried if i lost someone in there lol

When I'm home from college I like to spend as much time with my family as possible...yes this includes shopping with them. And where does it say the OP was shopping for furniture for his/herself?...

If I were your parents, I wouldn't have worried too much. If you get lost in IKEA, even if they don't find you for DAYS, you can easily survive. They have beds and food at the checkout and sometimes random clothes to make the closets look real. And if you get bored, you can watch their fake TVs and jump on the furniture.

They probably did it as a joke, to be funny. Hell, if I were a parent, I'd do that for laughs X'D although it IS embarrassing for the kid in question either way

#20 - I wanna know what thrift stores you go to 'cause the ones I've seen have more expensive furniture than IKEA. And for everyone who's done furniture shopping at IKEA compared to other places, they'll know that IKEA is actually pretty damn cheap... especially cause it's a warehouse-kind-of store. Also, IKEA is huge (well the ones I've been to at least). And the set-up of the place is confusing as hell, so I wouldn't be surprised if the OP got lost. And with cellphones, maybe it's just me, but somehow when I'm in the middle of the whole store, there's no reception, so I guess doing it speaker-style was the only option?
