Today, my 17 pound cat fell from a counter. It wouldn't have been a big deal if he didn't try to use my leg as a tree to cling onto on the way down. FML

Today, while my 18 pound cat was on the edge of the tub watching me shower, he fell in. Apparently, in his mind, the best way to get away from the water is to climb my bare legs. FML

Today, in the early hours of the morning, my cat started scratching at my legs. I got out of bed and he raced me to the stairs, tripping me. I fell all the way down and landed in cat poop. FML

Today, my cat tried to jump up to the window, and missed. This would have been hilarious if I had not been sleeping under that same window, and then caught him with my face. FML

Today, I tried to put my reclining chair back. My cat and dog were sitting on the very top. It went up in an unexpectedly forceful manner, sending them flying, causing my dog to fall, and my cat to cling for dear life. FML

I don't mean that you deserve getting scratched, but please try to help your cat lose weight. He'll be a lot healthier and happier -- and you can look forward to many more years of being mistaken for a plant :]

I posted earlier on this fml, but people are still posting about the cat being overweight. Has it ever occurred to anyone that the cat might not actually be overweight? 17lbs is heavy yes, but not for a cat who was built to be big. Google Maine Coon. Male cats of this breed NORMALLY weigh between 15 and 25 lbs. Now I'm not saying that the cat of this fml is one of those cats, but I have a cat that is 17lbs easily, and he is pure muscle. Don't assume a cat is fat until you take a look at the animal.

And for the record, what I mean by pure muscle is that unlike heavy cats who are mostly fat, this cat doesn't really have "fat". The weight is muscle, so don't say "I call bs cuz that's impossible." He's slim, and strong.

I have a scar on my leg and foot from my 16lb cat doing that. She was asleep, rolled off the couch, and tried to catch herself on my leg. The. Used my leg to climb back onto the couch.
