Today, I had to say, "Put away your burrito," "That ruler is not a lightsaber," and, "Stop making dog noises" all in the same sentence at work. I teach Advanced Placement Calculus to high school seniors. FML

That sounds like a pretty normal high school class to me. People can be disrespectful even in college classes.

I, as a high school senior, can attest to the fact that we're ******* awesome. =) I can also attest to the fact that as seniors, we're tired of school and so we'll make it as fun as possible. I think you deserved it for not rolling with the punches, and laughing it off. Way to be a fun teacher.

Advancement placement means capable of understanding the math better not "more mature" which seems to be a common misconception. They're still teenagers and still kids. The dog noises one is kind of odd but the rest is "meh normal kid".

i feel sorry for your kids and op other kids are probably jealous of the kids in your class due to the amounts of fun going on
