Huh?

Today, I went to a restaurant for lunch. The waiter brought some bread and I started eating it as I waited for him to take my order. When he approached me he looked at me and said, "Don't eat too much bread honey. It'll make you fatter." Not fat, fatter. I never thought of myself as fat. FML

So don't tip him? You're probably reading too much into it. He probably didn't mean it that way.

The waiter had absolutely no right to say that. I would have left the restaurant if I were you. You didn't tip him, did you?

I don't know about the etiquette in Spain, but if a waiter has the cojones (or huevos) to tell you you're fat, then you must be fat. Get real, piggie, you think you are hot, but you are just stuffing your fat face alone in a restaurant and the waiter is probably the only male who will talk to you. Start losing some weight!

not_a_valentine. I am so glad we are on the same page! It takes people of courage like us to speak the truth even when it may be ugly and painful. The OP was in serious denial about her weight problem and needed some harsh truth to shake her from her trance. It's good to know there are people like you out there.

I would have complained. I'm a server and I would never say something like that to a customer. We're there to give you good service, not advice.

I wish people like that would mind their own damned business. They don't know you, so they don't know if how you look is normal, if you're working on losing weight, or if you just don't give a rats ass about your physical appearance. They need to just do their job and butt out.

Are they even allowed to say that? What a dick. |: FYL, and I hope you didn't tip his stupid ass.

At least now you know, so do something about it!

who cares what he meant, it was rude anyway and like, the second you eat bread, you gain weight? please

Wow, please tell me you asked to speak to his manager. Doesnt matter how "fat" he thinks you are. That is completely rediculous behavior.

It doesnt matter if OP is fat or not. The waiter isnt a dietician, he shouldnt be making comments like that. I wouldve asked to see the manager and gotten him fired.

I wouldn't have taken that the wrong way, I just wouldn't have left a tip.
