Even if my girlfriend was an amazing singer, if I was in a bad mood I wouldn't take her bursting into song. Singing at random is a great way to get on someone's nerves. On a lighter note, it's funny that you think you can defeat sadness with the sound of your voice.

Your singing ability doesn't really matter. If your boyfriend is over 4 years old, singing a song isn't going to "help him calm down." Are you completely insane?

Just because he likes your singing voice doesn't mean he should have to feel like listening to it at any given time, especially if he's having a bad day.
