bad day or not, whether or not she can sing, the rudness was messed up. it was a kind thoughtful thing to do. and I agree with whoever said it before me because I forgot the comment number, she wasn't being conceited.
Even if my girlfriend was an amazing singer, if I was in a bad mood I wouldn't take her bursting into song. Singing at random is a great way to get on someone's nerves. On a lighter note, it's funny that you think you can defeat sadness with the sound of your voice.
Just because he likes your singing voice doesn't mean he should have to feel like listening to it at any given time, especially if he's having a bad day. There's no reason you should feel the need to take this as a blow to your ego; if you are, you're only lashing at yourself. You can get over it. It's your boyfriend that's having a bad day, not you.
