I love travelling

Today, as always, I have a very weak stomach. I'm in Japan right now, and all the unfamiliar foods set me off every time I eat. I can choose between having a great time and starving myself half to death, or sitting in my hotel room all day with stomach pains and diarrhea. FML

When I visited Japan, if I wasn't sure about whatever we were eating, I just ate the rice. It's filling and tasty.

I wonder if this will happen to me when i go to Taiwan in a few years?

yes. im from there and the food still gets me from time to time. tastes so good tho

Do they not serve nontraditional japanese food in Japan?

They do, op is likely just not brave enough to go looking.

I'm sure they have a McDonald's there.

I was in japan for a month this past June. Not all japanese food is "exotic." They eat alot of vegetables and rice. Both of which I assume would be easy on your stomach.

I love how everyone is suggesting that she eat at McDonald's. That greasy garbage will only make her sicker! It certainly isn't very nice to my stomach.... Just eat some plain white rice until you feel better, OP. =)

#47- I appreciate your opinion, however refering to something that you're not fond of as "greasy garbage", is direspectful. I personally enjoy the Big Mac, as do many people. Please, for the sake of peace and unity, stop being a food racist.

Oh, it's not that I'm not fond of McDonald's. My stomach just can't handle it, so I wouldn't suggest it to someone who isn't feeling well.
