I'm not, but…

Today, my girlfriend's mother insisted she's not homophobic, but however people only 'turn gay' because they were sexually abused, or are 'making it up to get attention'. She informed me I'm the former and my girlfriend is the latter. Uh huh. FML

Not seeing an issue here. Also, bisexuals were only half abused or only want half attention, and asexuals either had invisible parents or have the ability to control electricity. Simple human sexuality, OP.

You should both remove her from your lives lickety split.

I hope she doesn't try to pray away the gay next if she does, start convulsing, for fun. get it on video

This is the point where you smile and nod. You gotta live with family, but they can't understand half of what this generation does. That'll be us next :/

yes because this is the first generation with gay people

Sorry to hear about that, OP. I doubt there will ever be a time where EVERYONE excepts same sex relationships/marriage, and it definitely sucks when your significant others' parents disprove. As long as you love and support your partner and your partner loves and supports you, that's the only love and support you need! Lean on each other to stay strong and get stronger. (: Wish you and your girlfriend the best of luck, especially when dealing with her mother.

"I'm not homophobic but" is the new "I'm not racist but"

Meh. Ignore her. There's no sense trying to reason with anyone that ignorant.

Sounds like my father in law. One minute he's absolutely fine with gays next minute he hates Ellen and other celebrities because they apparently "lied to him" about being gay. *rolls eyes* Hopefully you guys have the choice of not dealing with her OP and if so stay away as often as possible.
