No, it means it didn't put us into debt, but it did wipe out our savings. "Barely afford it" doesn't equal "comfortably afford it", and OP must have a small house if there's not 80 inches of solid wall anywhere. I can't say if it's midlife crisis, bad marriage or penis size, but I'm willing to bet there's bigger issues in this relationship than the tv.

I spent a lot of time in apartments in the military too, and I can think of one apartment and one base housing unit where there wasn't an unbroken 80 inches of wall space. That's roughly 6 1/2 feet of big ass tv, probably closer to 7 once you take the framing into account.
