Improvise, adapt, overcome

By SomePeoplesKids - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - Canada - Okotoks

Today, I walked in on my daughter attempting to iron her pants with a hair straightener. She's 17. FML

Rather clever idea actually.

I do that all the time, it's great for shirt collars and around buttons!

Actually, a hair dryer on it's hottest setting and a spray bottle of water are extremely effective. I did that with a prom dress one year, and my grandmother is the one who showed me how to do it.

Hey I was trying to figure out how to get the wrinkles out of my prom dress! You just spray the water and then blow dry it?

I use a blow dryer too! I don't own an iron or a hair straightener, so that's the next best thing.

She's older than me and even I'd have the common sense not to do that.

I am going to have to disagree, and go along with the comments about how they do this all the time too. Seems to me she was using UNcommon sense by being resourceful.

I've done that, back in college. sometimes you just gotta improvise.

As long as she turned the heat down she should be fine!

It's basically the same thing. And she's not asking you to do it, so why fyl?

Hey I've done a shirt before it works!
