Improvise, adapt, overcome

By SomePeoplesKids - This FML is from back in 2012 but it's good stuff - Canada - Okotoks

Today, I walked in on my daughter attempting to iron her pants with a hair straightener. She's 17. FML

Rather clever idea actually.

I do that all the time, it's great for shirt collars and around buttons!

She's preparing to be a poor college student. She'll then be making grilled cheese sandwiches with her roommate's iron and ironing board, wash her clothes in the bathroom sink to save a few bucks at the laundromat, and literally walk 5 miles to get class to save on gas!

It actually works pretty well if you're just trying to get out a couple little wrinkles... I don't really see the FML here

And this is a problem, how?

It's exactly the same principle. I'm sure I've heard of someone doing this the other way round before. using an iron to straighten out hair.

@ #167 You missed out cooking eggs in the kettle!

I do it all the time on shirts. It works.

I love the "my kid's an idiot because I'm an ineffective parent" posts ....

It'll be funny if her daughter reads fml as well :p

I use mine for the collar on my shirt!
