Invaded

Today, one of my employees called in after his 8-hour shift, explaining that he had bed bugs at home, found one on his shirt, and thinks they are in the store. I own a mattress shop. They'd spread. FML

Call the exterminator! FYL OP that sucks. Sorry

I'm sure he didn't intentionally bring them into the store. Just call an exterminator, and you should be fine :)

FYL OP. bedbugs suck have had em for like 5 months tried everything (except exterminator) parents won't pay for that still haven't got rid of em

We're in the same boat. My parents think they can defeat them themselves. Its not working.

Tell them to use all magical google and read all the cases where they tried self treatment and still failed. Maybe then they will realize. Best of luck.

As everyone says, exterminate them! ASAP too! I've had the experience of bed bugs and it was horrifying. Waking up to bites all over my body. Itchy as hell! I hope it doesn't affect your business even after you get rid of them.

OP has a unique problem since he owns a mattress store that's a lot of product lost can't sell infected beds and even if exterminator comes you would have to notify customers and that hurts reputation so fyl op rock and a hard place for sure

Time for doctor doom bombing to get rid of those assholes. It worked in my friends car after a couple weeks of treatment but i'm not sure if it will work for a large space entirely in terms of cost effectiveness.

It doesn't. Most of them are resistant. Leaving the car in the summer sun for an afternoon usually gets it hot enough to kill them though.

At least he called to let you know, still sucks though. I'm sorry, OP.

Omfg! That guy would so be fired! Once those things set in , they don't just go away with a little spray. Holy crap! He could have just started an epidemic! If he sold mattresses , and people took them home, they could be infected too.

Well obviously he didn't introduce bed bugs to his work place on purpose. That being if it was even him, any customer could be the cause.

I agree with the previous response. He didn't bring them in on purpose. Plus, at least he called and let someone know before a mattress was sold. That's even worse for a business's rep.

I can only assume that in your line off work, you would have insurance for this sort of thing. Aren't new mattresses kept sealed anyway?

Make your employee pay for the exterminator at least partially.
