Today, the attractive guy I barely speak to in my statistics class gave me a rose for Valentine's Day because he remembered they were my favorite. My husband got me a roll of quarters and told me to go buy myself "something pretty." FML

Who is making do without another f/t income in the house while OP takes a class? That husband. A roll of quarters is $10 and at least lets her buy some drugstore make-up. A rose is a couple of bucks and says, "I'd do ya." No wonder divorce is so common.

How do you know for certain that OP isn't working while she goes to school? Some teachers graduate from 4 year and then teach while they go to school for their masters degree. That's what I'm planning to do. How does a rose say, "I'll do ya"?

My boyfriend works a full time job and takes night classes at a college; that's the point of why night classes are available. I am a full time college student and also work part time. Not all people in college classes choose not to work as well.

That's just mariage for you OP. my parents have been maried for over 30 years, and my father dont even remember to give my mother a gift for valentine's day or mariage birthday...or even her birthday

#39 - My dad has the same issue! Mostly because he forgets the dates and because when he finally does remember a date he has no idea what to get her. My dad just tells her that if she ever needs or wants something, she can just buy it whenever she wants. Not very romantic at all, but hey, he's always been like that so my mom's used to it.

Crazy thought here but did you ever consider that Valentine's Day isn't about the gifts? I'm willing to bet your husband does a lot for you throughout the year, like maybe helping to pay for those classes you're taking...

I made him his favorite breakfast before I went to class and got him an RC Cola and a big pack of beef jerky and a sweet card. I barely got a thank you and he didn't eat it. If you knew my husband then you'd know that's the perfect gift. So I was already sore when I wrote this.

Well, he didn't say you had to use the quarters to buy something pretty. Go out and get that $800 black dress with the open back and a slit on the side. Yeah..., the one that shows off your abs and just a hint of the insides of your breasts. Then go get that Jaguar you've been eyeing and go pick up that pretty boy in stats class for a night out at the Waldorf... What? Too much?
