Lmao 33 citizens arrest doesn't work unless you're on your own property, well at least in canada
that's what happens when your too nosy.
#19, maybe the cameras are there to catch idiots like this? Too bad they apparently don't use them.
Lesson learned: instead of making yourself suspicious by taking place behind a ruined computer (for what?), go to the librarian/security and tell them what you saw.
If you didn't do it then they can't prove it was you. Don't pay the fine and take it to court. You'll win unless the guard and the librarian are happy to lie on the stand.
Don't pay the fine if it wasn't you! In my library there's always a wait for the machines. One frees up and someone else grabs it. Didn't she account for that?
#41 is right on the money.
I agree with #41.

Tell them to check the security camera to prove you didn't do it.
What the heck is with all of you saying he deserves it for getting in other peoples business? The other guy left. There's no way you deserve it. Maybe he wanted to look at the computer and see what was wrong with it. Sounds like he could have been trying to be helpful. Pretty stupid librarian to not know that the guy left and you came there. She obviously wasn't paying very much attention to what people looked like, either. Sucks.
