Just checking

By whytoday - 21/05/2012 14:59

Today, I read an article on babies dying after being accidentally left in cars in the sun. On my lunch break, I decided to walk around the parking lot, checking to see that no kids were abandoned in cars. A guy gave me a smack for looking through his car window. FML

It you SEE a baby in a car, call the police. Do not actively go in search of it. You are not a super hero, just annoying. I've read that people trapped in a fire can die; I do not go around looking for fires I can rescue people from. There are people who actually do that for a living. They are called "professionals".

I bet he was checking cars for babies too. He thought you were stealing his thunder.

While it's great that you care enough to check, it isn't your job to be peeking through people's cars. As you found out, some poeple don't take kindly to it. I'll have to say it's an FYL and a YDI.

Maybe you interrupted his suicide attempt? Or his lunch wank ;) Or he felt stupid that you noticed that he accidentally abandoned himself in his own car. Not everyone can handle all the baggage that comes with being a super-hero. I tried, but the dry-cleaning bills were murder!

Maybe both? Guy - Goodbye cruel world... but not before one last wank.

Your intentions were good I will give you that, next time make it less obvious.

If I caught you looking in my windows I would most likely do more than smack you... You don't go looking in people's windows for random shit. Crime rate is high how do I know your not trying to steal all my shit?

In my opinion, you should have expected that… what next, peeking into peoples' homes and doing covert personality assessments to make sure they aren't serial killers? Surely you had really good intentions, but maybe try doing something else about it. You're obviously passionate, so maybe you could start a group to raise awareness within families or something… you know, something that isn't an invasion of privacy. FYL anyways though since you were obviously only trying to help. I guess in your head this seemed like a good idea at the time.

Does that meaning that being overly precaustious means that you have no life? Somehow I strongly disagree.

Uh-huh, sure. Doing something clearly on my lunch break during my work time means that i have no life. Amazing logic, bro.

Your intentions were good but you really don't have the right to do that. Just be lucky he didnt punch your lights out.

Reading articles about any crime turns you into a vigilante wannabe then?
