Eh, this is fine by me, as a lot of places wouldn't let you leave early if it were any other legitimate reason. Your car would have caught fire either that day later on or another. And it thankfully caught on fire on a day you weren't trying to get anywhere really important. Use those "Sick Days" sparingly! YLS/YDI, but no one deserves to have their vehicle catch fire. A different mild inconvenience would be your just desserts. A car is thousands upon thousands of dollars. Good Luck OP!
OP here Yes luckily the car caught fire on the highway in the middle of nowhere on a low traffic day. Otherwise it could have done it on my way to work on Sweden’s busiest road. But it’s always fun to call your parents and ask for a ride drunk (I wasn’t driving) because the car is in fire... On a side note: The language in the post changed when it got posted. I never even went to work, I called in sick before my shift even started. I wonder why... this seems to be written by a 10 year old. Even though English isn’t my first language I’m fluent both in writing and talking.
You got that right, Faker McFakerson.
The name checks out.
And now the internet will reiterate your conclusion to you!
You got what you deserved. Depending on what your job is other people had to work harder because pretended to be sick. You didn’t have to miss the party necessarily, you could have said a little white lie and worked a half day and tell your boss/supervisor you need to leave early today because you have a family get together.
Either way, the other workers would have had to work harder. The reason doesn't change the workplace circumstances.
My thought too!
