Know it all

Today, I tried to explain autism to my classmates. One of them, a professional cunt who's always looking for an excuse to lecture people, accused me of being "ableist" because my explanations weren't accurate, and said I shouldn't explain things I don't understand. I'm actually autistic. FML

Ignore people like that, they love starting fights. If he does it again, say, how would you describe it? And when he's completely off. Correct him on everything :D

@27: So, I guess there is no need for doctors with that logic.

the exact same thing happened to me.....I am also autistic

I'm partly autistic, so I can relate. Just keep this in mind: "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." Albert Einstein

You can't be "partly" autistic. You either are or you aren't. What I'm guessing you're trying to say is you have high-functioning autism, i.e. you're on the lighter end of the spectrum.

Is that like saying you're "kind of pregnant"?

sure. anyone can be partly anything thanks to Dr. Google. lol

Psychologically speaking everyone is on the autistic spectrum. Everyone just has it at varying degrees.

#38 is completely right. It's actually a good way to discuss it to kids who dont understand autism as well, especially if they are notably on the spectrum. Makes them feel a bit less alienated.

I hope you put him in his place and actually said that m.

Screw him, I'm sure he rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

If you can call her a professional **** here, why can't you tell her off and tell her to shut the **** up?

Probably doesn't make for a civilized classroom discussion.

If she's always like this, then where does civilized come into play?

Civilized comes into play when two wrongs don't make a right.

It seems you've encountered a social justice warrior. As an autistic person, I'm sorry, OP.

Wouldn't call them a social justice warrior, there's no social justice in what they've said.

Think they were using SJW in the sarcastic way used to refer to people who pretend to be advocating for a cause for altruistic reasons, but are really doing it for personal gain of some kind. Usually the personal gain is that they use their 'cause' as a way to justify mistreating and slamming other people in order to artificially inflate their sense of self worth.
