Know it all

Today, I tried to explain autism to my classmates. One of them, a professional cunt who's always looking for an excuse to lecture people, accused me of being "ableist" because my explanations weren't accurate, and said I shouldn't explain things I don't understand. I'm actually autistic. FML

Ignore people like that, they love starting fights. If he does it again, say, how would you describe it? And when he's completely off. Correct him on everything :D

"Sometimes, the gap in typical communication skills can cause unwarranted, aggressive reactions—" "SHUT THE **** UP, YOU ABLEIST SHIT!"

As someone who also has an ASD, I hate people like that. Next time that ******** starts crap like that, tell him to shut the **** up.

At least he couldn't tell you had autism.

Nobody has time for people like that, as above, just ignore him.

Professional ****? I'm gonna start using that.

I'm with you on this one. Same thing happened to me. FYL

Just playing devil's advocate here, but having a condition does not necessarily qualify one as being knowledgable on the subject as well. So saying 'I am autistic' does not really mean anything here.

It is incredibly frustrating being told you know nothing about the condition you have and us with autism do tend to be very knowledgeable about it because why wouldn't you be? You make a point to find out as much as you can about your condition so that you're well informed in case you do need to tell someone about it. There's no point in playing Devil's advocate here - the OP has explained that the person in question is a complete tool.

Screw your classmate. We on the spectrum tend to be knowledgable about our own condition, and indeed most people with any condition would know the ins and outs of it, and when you get someone like that who thinks they know everything, ignore them. Or pick a spot on his face to stare at in silence and watch him get very uncomfortable. Tends to shut people up quite quickly.

I wonder if that same person is regaling their Tumblr followers with this tale, sprinkling it with a dose of creative license by ending with "And then everyone clapped".
