How does his being a sex offender affect you? You have no responsibility or obligation to him. Let him go and take the win of not having to look out for him.
Usually to get out of jail or prison a family member has to take responsibility for the offender. That being said, not a whole lot you can do about that. The OP may not want to but was guilted into doing it and when the OP’s brother came back home and if the OP’s parents were involved in any way it may be a condition of the judge.
