Err OP, how old are you and your ex? If you're younger than 17 then I guess she had the right, since you both aren't fully grown adults.

Controlling mothers like that are the worst OP! I dated a guy in high school whose mother didn't like me, or really any girl he dated. When we broke up (he dumped me), I always suspected that it was because his mother told him to. I laugh about it now because his mom was a bitch, and I'm happily engaged to a wonderful man. I wonder every now and then if she thinks back to when we were dating and says "You know she wasn't really all that bad." because his mom is very religious, and he is unmarried with 2 kids. Lol. Pretty sure she hates it! Keep looking for the right guy OP. You'll find him eventually!
