Looking for love in Alderaan places

By not4geeks - This FML is from back in 2009 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I went out on a first date with a cute guy. Turns out we won't be going on a date again because I didn't know the difference between "Star Wars" and "Star Trek." FML

How do you not know the difference? YDI. I'm a girl, and I'd dump you for that. It's proof positive that your interests clash.

he was a cute geek then... weird..

Its a good stupid indicator IMO, being a SW fan or ST fan doesnt really matters here, but if you are old enough to know those 2 and you DONT, then thats a really really good indicator of how much of a stupid bitch you are. YDI all the way. @#93: It just means you are stupid and need to Learn2read, dont worry.

I know the difference and wish I didn't!! My bf loves them both, he is yet to dump me for having different interests... guess that is because he is a normal nice genuine guy ... ignore the grunters in here who say otherwise, the guy who dumped you is a doofus of the highest order.

unacceptable. Everyone should know that

Wow, you don't have to be into it to know that. It's like not knowing the difference between a Ferrari and a Fiat, because they're both cars starting with a F. You don't have to be into cars to know that either.

I know the difference, but I hadn't seen a single thing of Star Trek before last weekend, and I'd only seen all of the Star Wars because my ex-wife made me watch them (she was a huge fan).. Before I'd just skip to the end of the movie to watch the big fight because I liked the light sabers. She told me this was unacceptable. By the way, since we have some Trekkie's here.. What's the black girls first name? I still don't know..

Heh. YDI. I'm sorry, but its kind of crazy not to know even the DIFFERENCE between the two. That's like...just. Well. Crazy lol. I'm a girl, and not really a diehard fan, but i grew up with Star Wars and its a nice thing in my family. Try doing some research or watching the movies, if even only you skim through them. It may help you in the future.
