Lower your expectations

Today, at a romantic dinner my boyfriend was treating me to, the waiter brought a "Will you marry me?" cake out, with candles and sparklers. I probably should have checked that they'd brought it to the right table before dramatically screaming ,"Yes!" and jumping into my boyfriend's arms. They hadn't. FML

Well at least your boyfriend knows what you'll say if he ever asks.

Did the couple the cake was intended for at least give you a slice?

It would of been nice if your boyfriend took it in stride and went with it. On the plus side you know where his heart isn't.

no, it wouldn't have been. it would've ruined the proposal someone else arranged (which is still technically did).

While accepting a proposal that wasn't meant for you is embarrassing, I feel worse for the couple it was meant for - he probably put in a lot of effort to surprise her, but she wasn't, which was probably disappointing for her too.

Tip for waiter: Double check where cakes go for now on.That's a much better tip for him than money.

In a way? This is too adorable. I'm pretty sure it's not too bad(:

jumping the gun alittle. hopefully things dont get awkward between you and your bf. maybe he might even get the courage to propose now that he knows what your answer will be.

scumbag OP, accepting unprompted proposals and ruining moments for other couples.
