Today, my dad called me a "deadbeat loser" after I came back from my first day of voluntary rehab for my meth problem. He's never had a job in his life and sits on the sofa all day, smoking weed and playing video games, all on my mom's salary. FML

I don't know why some of these comments are so judgmental! From the post, it seems pretty crystal clear to me that OP is doing something really positive to turn his life around while his dad is being a good-for-nothing dick.

I think it's amazing that you're going to rehab. It takes a lot to admit you have a problem, and it takes a lot to get over an addiction.

Hey, you know what? When, not if but WHEN, you fix yourself, turn your life around, marry a pretty girl, manage to hold a solid job, and get a nice place to live, you know what you do then? Call up your old man, and gloat to your heart's content, buddy. Shove it in his face, because $20 says he'll still be his old pothead deadbeat asshole self.
