Today, my dad called me a "deadbeat loser" after I came back from my first day of voluntary rehab for my meth problem. He's never had a job in his life and sits on the sofa all day, smoking weed and playing video games, all on my mom's salary. FML

Good for you for getting clean. Why care what he says if he's such a loser?

#1 did you miss the part where he just got out of voluntary rehab?

It's time to get a job and move on if you are old enough. Find a way to get out of that destructive environment, and please stop caring about what your dad says. Best of luck!

What does that have to do with the post? **** you.

you SAW your mother supporting you and your (please excuse my language) piece of shit dad and instead of rising up in life and making her proud of her decision to not walk away on you (please excuse my language) bums... you got so addicted to meth that you had to go through rehab.. that's just low [strictly a personal opinion].. She should have left you people..

He voluntarily went into rehab, so he's not that bad. He wants to get better, don't put him down for that.

What douchebag. He is obviously trying to turn his life around by going to rehab. What will you do if someone you love went into rehab? Just leave them?

Congrats on trying to get clean. It's a long hard road but worth it. And you can do it. Just make it an absolute goal and enjoy the little things in each moment as they will be your fuel to get to your destination.

That's awful. Kudos to you, though, for bettering yourself. Good luck!

I dare say it's because you're showing him up by taking control of your life and trying to better yourself, OP. Ignore him and keep at it. Eventually you'll have a wonderful life and he will still be bitter and useless.
