Ugh. I feel for you, OP. These situations enrage me, you know, when some incompetent idiot is deemed your "superior". How are hierarchical positions not assigned by merit? My old boss (from the olden days when I was employed) was such a moron, confident in his ignorance. He once made the company lose over $32,000 because he insisted on doing things his way (the wrong way) instead of how the developers wanted (the right way), just because (and I'm quoting here) "I'm the manager, so I know better by definition" . He ended up firing the whole team because "they didn't explain clearly enough" why his way was wrong, although one dev had already quit because he wouldn't listen. I'm so happy I'm out of there.
This moron also reads fml. You're still doing it.
Jim Halpert?
At least you'll speed up your workplaces internet speed (Ethernet is roughly 25% faster than Wifi and less prone to dropping out) also technicality it is Ethernet is more secure, the submarine base my dad used to work at would only use Ethernet cables for security reason, but it's unnecessary for a standard workplace environment
You told your boss he was right. There's the problem.
Convince him to wear a tinfoil hat and see how long it takes for you to get fired.

Maybe you should ask for a raise, he might be stupid enough to give it to you
Did you do it?
