Who cares? People fart and him farting upset you? perhaps it was because he was nervous or perhaps he has digestive issues. if this ruined the moment then he is dodging a bullet! plus you can always leave that part out of the story IF yoy didn't say no over a stupid fart.

Okay, and? He's human, that stuff happens sometimes. Especially when you're nervous and getting yourself in an awkward position. If you get married you're gonna have to hear and smell his farts for the rest of your life.

If this was the event in my life, the answer would depend on how audible said fart was. If it was unmistakable... Maybe a fart in return is order. Knowing me, if this was my life experience, I'd probably started amassing fart-themed presents immediately and it would become one of the many inside jokes for my relationship. Though in all seriousness, I'm going to guess the boyfriend, unless he's a OG prankster, wasn't planning on blasting the butt trumpet when he proposed so he's likely absolutely mortified that that moment is immortalized by his colon.
