Nice try

Today, a cute thirty-ish chick walked into the bar I work in. I asked her for her license to make her feel young. She didn't have her license on her and started yelling about how stupid it was to even ask, when she obviously was old enough to drink. She then got up and left. FML

I'm a bartender, and people must have their ID's on them while in our bar no matter what age, most times people are respectful, but occasionally get people complaining because they dont have their ID's or they are old, either way, not your fault for her not having her ID. Sucks that she had to react that way though.

people who say this isn't really a fml, sure your proberly right but it's funny so shut up haha

In a lot of places, though most people don't realize this, it's actually illegal to be in a bar ordering a drink without proper identification. So yes, it was definitely her fault for not having her ID. I hope she got pulled over without it on the way home.

Exactly. Most places, it's not legal to just let someone by on looking old enough and anyone could be an inspector who could fine your restaurant/company. Not to mention, you'd lose your job.

Dude, you must remember the "man & woman rule book" Rule 4: Don't ask a woman about her age. Please Advice

So he should lose his job and his establishment lose their liquor license over a stupid rule that makes no sense? Uh no

then just flatter her and say..."its because u look so young" or something like that since it was ur stupid goal in the first place, but ydi!!

probably wasn't her first drink of the day...

It's not illegal to not have your ID on you as long as you're not doing anything that requires it. Drinking is one of those things. I work in retail and I card people all the time. Sometimes people get mad when I card them and then they either don't have it or they're using someone else's credit card, but what they don't understand is I could card them for using their credit card on a $5 purchase if I want. Legally, you need photo ID to use a credit card. Same thing applies to bars. You need photo ID and you need to be 21+ years old (in the US). Otherwise there's no reason for you to be serving them alcohol.

how is this an FML? you win some you lose some
