Today, a cute thirty-ish chick walked into the bar I work in. I asked her for her license to make her feel young. She didn't have her license on her and started yelling about how stupid it was to even ask, when she obviously was old enough to drink. She then got up and left. FML

Today, I went to the bar to celebrate my friend's birthday party. I gave the bouncer my ID and he kicked me out, saying that I should at least use an ID card with the correct gender. I'm 22 and female, he thought I was an underage boy. FML

Today, I was fired for not asking a senior citizen for proof that he was over 21 and legally allowed to purchase alcohol. When I told my manager he was clearly over 21, he replied, "But what if he WASN'T?" FML

Today, I went to a bar to celebrate my 26th birthday. I got ripped off by the bartender all night because she secretly gave me non-alcoholic versions of my drinks. Apparently I look like I'm 16, so she thought my ID was fake. Happy birthday to me. FML

Actually if you don't have your ID with you and the police are involved (anything, not just driving) you will be booked :P. Mostly cause you can't prove your identity.

That has to be dependent on state or perhaps town, because I've been stopped by police a few times while walking through my neighborhood and not had my ID on me. If you aren't doing anything wrong, or at least obviously wrong (as I am sure some people manage), or anything that actually requires you to have your ID, such as driving, they can't arrest you for anything because you are not required to have ID.

They just ask a bunch of questions while trying to come up with some way that you are trouble making and then send you on your way. That is of course if you chose to talk to them in the first place because you are not legally required to stand around and answer police questions if you weren't actually doing anything wrong in the first place, I just always do because I don't usually have anything better to do.
