No favors

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was pulled over. The cop seemed very familiar. Turns out he was a relative of mine whom I haven't spoken to in a very long time. We had decent conversation and caught up. He still gave me a ticket. FML

The cop has to do his job, no matter what.

It doesn't matter if he's related to you, you still deserved a ticket.

Cops actually don't HAVE to issue anyone a ticket for basic traffic violations or minor law infractions. They are allowed to use judgement. So basically he chose to ticket you OP. Sorry, hope your week gets better.

51- your right. people get out of tickets all the time and it's stupid that your own relative wouldn't even let you get out of it.

Well I'm a police officer and I can say from experience that every relative I've pulled over I gave a ticket! If your did the crime then you must pay no matter who you are or who your related to!
