No favors

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2011 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I was pulled over. The cop seemed very familiar. Turns out he was a relative of mine whom I haven't spoken to in a very long time. We had decent conversation and caught up. He still gave me a ticket. FML

The cop has to do his job, no matter what.

Ha, sorry... you really deserve it. Law is the Law :3

Ohh, how horrible, he did what he's employed to do! Poor you!

Should of stayed closer to him. Then maybe the "decent" convo would of led to no ticket at all.

ask him for money for christmas. cut his branch off your family tree.

Well I mean he has to do his job... stop driving like an ass

I don't know why you all think that cops don't give breaks. Cops you don't even KNOW will just let you go with a warning. Depending on what OP did, it would have been nice to just let him go.

So what you're saying is that if someone doesn't get let off, they have a right to complain?

Be proud of the nepotism free approach your relative takes to his police work!

Sucks to be you.. But you know words like.. Law.. Order..system.. We need to keep the world in order..

You act like he committed murder. For all we know he was driving 5 miles over the speed limit. Cops you don't even know will let you leave with a warning. It wouldn't have killed the cop to let his own relative go as long as he didn't do something horrible.

Exactly! I've been let off countless times and have even had cops tell me what to say to other cops in order to talk my way out of it.
