Unless he thought it should look like that (maybe he really doesn’t understand makeup), he could have told you earlier and spared you the embarrassment. It would have been kinder and more respectful. If it’s been hours, you may sadly have encountered a lot of people who had a laugh at your expense. Don’t care about them. Cheer up! The important part was that you felt beautiful and had a good time.
Why did he let you make a fool of yourself all night?
This is why you don't bother with cosmetic crap like fake lashes. If he's your boyfriend, I'm sure he's used to seeing you without them, so leave it that way. People should see the real you, anyway, not who you're pretending to be with makeup and other embellishments.
