Today, I went on a blind date that my sister had set up. When I arrived at the coffeeshop, I approached a man waiting by the counter, asking if his name was Tim (my date's name). He looked at me and said no and then left with a drink clearly labeled "Tim" in bold letters. FML

HERE IS WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE!!!!!!!!!!: Run back up to him, snatch his cup, and say, "Excuse me sir, but you're taking someone else's cup! I'm waiting for a blind date named Tim and that cup says "Tim" on it, so if he sees me here but not his cup, he'll think I've hidden it! So I'll have to hold it for when he comes, okay??"

While your idea is amazingly great, I think just grabbing the cup and throwing it in his face would be much simpler and funnier.

You should expect that when you're going on a blind date. The guy doesn't need to go out with you or like you. I think he has the right to walk away when he sees you. Just go out and try to find a boyfriend yourself, don't rely on blind dates.

You're lucky really. If the coffee shop didn't write his name on the cup you never would have known it WAS him and you'd be waiting for a short while for a date you'd think stood you up. If you'd done anything or said anything to him you'd just be further embarrassed so better you did nothing. But then... if, maybe 'Tim' was the coffee brand or something as some people have mentioned, I hope you didn't stand him up instead. Well, life sucks. I'd have been better about it if I was him and have said "That's me but you're so not my type. Bye."

He said his name WASN'T Tim. If his name was Tim, he would've said yes when she asked if that was his name.
