Not fair

By Sorry? - This FML is from back in 2016 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, I took a test. I got up to turn it in, and accidentally bumped into another student. We both whispered, "Sorry." Our teacher promptly gave us detention and a 0% on the test for talking. Sorry for being sorry? FML

Some people go into teaching because they actually want to educate people and help their minds grow. Some people go into teaching because they're authoritarian shitbirds who just want an excuse to bully students.

Obviously "sorry" was code for 1) is A, 2) is ths Gettysburg address, and 3) is 53.6. Your teacher saw right through your sneakiness.

Some teachers just don't like kids apologizing to each other.

Reminds me of my first ever detention. I was in 7th grade and the teacher had just finished yelling at the whole class for poor test grades or something so he was in a bad mood. He gave us a quiz. My pencil started rolling off my desk so I grabbed it. He stomped over grabbed my paper and put a big 0 on it before giving me detention. Not sure if he thought I was trying to be a distraction or what.

Are you in high school? Have your parent call the teacher or the principal. That's just wrong.

Thats ridiculous. I'd definitely go to the principal about it.

Had a principal give a friend in school suspension once for going into the "rival town" during the big rivalry week (between the football teams). All they did was accidentally get exposed to an allergen while out to eat after asking about and mentioning the allergen and taken there by the ambulance squad. Principal refused to listen to the fact that anaphylactic shock can't wait 45 minutes until you get to the next nearest hospital. Girl ended up serving it even though her parents tried to fight it too. Good luck. You may need it.

Wow how is that even legal? You can't go into another town because there's a rivalry? What century is this? What authority does a principal have over where a person goes during off hours?

Years before, people had been going into the other town during rivalry week to cause all sorts of problems (graffiti on the stadium/schools/vehicles/etc., breaking things (including windows), and all other sorts of things) all in the name of their side (school). A bunch of students got caught by the police (knowing some of the adults I figure that they were probably at it too but not caught) so it became a rule with serious consequences if you broke it for any reason, no excuses. She was lucky to just get a few days (and this was after she got screamed at for about 30 minutes and you could hear it on all 3 floors because they were on the second). Someone else went to a fast food place that is at the corner of where these towns connect and since it was "technically" the other town by about 0.01 miles, they got 2 weeks. Another got 2 weeks because they went to a (very fancy) restaurant with their parents and family visiting from out of state that was technically in the "bad" town (via mailing address) but the "good" school district. These were all "nobodies" (not sports players (especially football) or cheerleaders) though. Sports players and cheerleaders got away with everything, band members and other "nobodies" were at fault for everything including fights between members of "perfect groups" (us nobodies had all types of names for them, this one was sarcastic because that was how they were treated) just for existing in the same room/hall (keeping in mind we were there because we had to (lunch, class, switching classes, etc.) and would've been in trouble if we weren't or were late.

How would they know where everyone is going? They must have spies all over town to make sure no one is crossing borders. Sounds like a shit school.

Even though it was a high school it's focus was on the sports. So much that at all the parades (Christmas, Independence Day, etc.) you are more likely to hear the band play the school fight song ("go our school") than you will anything that has to do with what the parade is supposedly about (they maybe play the Christmas selection 2 times and the other 10-15 times is "go school", Independence Day they might play a song a little more patriotic (but not much) 5 times but the rest of the 15-20 times (longer parade) is "Go School!"). I was in the band for a year, made learning the songs easy (we played more songs at the football games, some of them more patriotic than at the parade) but I never thought it was appropriate, and still don't. Leave the "Go School" crap for the game. It doesn't belong when we are supposed to be celebrating our nation or the holidays, especially when all they focus on is the "Go School!" crap instead of the point of the parade. I've been to other parades in several other towns and none of them do the "Go School!" crap at their parades. They actually learn music and focus on the actual reason for the parade instead of basically telling everyone that they are in the parades to say "Go School and we don't care about anyone else or anything else. Go Us!"

I'm pretty sure that would be illegal since school aren't allowed to enforce students off campus

Bring it before the school board, or whatever group there is for your school to take this up with. They should be able to clear it up, especially if the both of you will testify that all you said was 'sorry'. Do not take this lying down, do not accept a teachers attempt to bring you down for bogus reasons.

When you have to speak on an exam always do it in a loud and clear voice that the teacher can hear, It might annoy people but you won't look suspicious.
