Not too fond of the chair

By Anonymous - This FML is from back in 2013 but it's good stuff - United States

Today, my son threw the biggest fit in history about going to the dentist. He broke a whole stack of plates, overflowed the bathtub, let the dog loose, and kicked his father when he tried to calm him down. My son is 17. FML

Sounds like someone still needs his ass whooped! I understand he's 17, but if you want to act like a child than you should be treated like a child!

like 99% chance it's from bad parenting

Not quite sure why you're complaining...you raised him

he obviously has ssome kind of mental illness that should be dealt with before it escalates

For some of you saying OP is a bad parent, it's not necessarily bad parenting. It's OP's lack of a firm attitude that allows the son to act so wild. Once he's 18 tell him get a job & act his age or go do whatever he wants else where, that he is not welcomed with that attitude. My mom would have thrown my ass out if I did any of that shit!

Ok, so what you're saying is it IS bad parenting.

Get him checked for autism... That sounds like there's an actual problem with him...

Or the fit he throws when he is older and has to go for a prostate exam.

Sheesh, going to the dentist isn't that bad! Sure, no one actually likes it, but wow, what an over-reaction. Did something bad happen to him at the dentist before?

Since he's grown you should have beat his ass

Although I don't condone his actions, I completely understand the dental anxiety. :(
