Not working out

Today, after months of job hunting, I finally got a phone interview with a company. Excited, I prepared for the interview and conducted extensive research on the company. The interview ended within a minute. They'd got the wrong person. FML

Today, I had an interview for a pretty interesting job. Everything was going smoothly until I referred to their company by the wrong name, not once, but three times. They politely corrected me each time, but I could see the resentment in their eyes, especially because it was the name of their main competitor. I probably won't be getting the job, huh? FML

At least that one minute went well? Maybe if they don't like the other guy, they'll call you up again!

Maybe you just got the wrong company.

Sorry that you missed out on the job. On the bright side someone willing to put forth that much effort into an interview will nail the next one. Hopefully you're not out of work much longer.

You should have tried to convince them that you are the right person for the job. You had nothing to lose...

Maybe it's a sign that there are more interviews to come where you're the right guy.

Who needs them? They couldn't even contact the right person!

as long as they put the money in the right bank account, I'm sure op would've been over joyed

Hopefully next time will turn out better. If this happens again, try to use the opportunity to upsell yourself into a job.

I hate to be the person to do this and I rarely do this, but it should be "a" instead of "an."

that's a quickie.. sorry OP.. be optimistic.. opportunity is still out there...

once I got called in for a second interview, then when I got there they said they didn't mean to call me. :'(
