life is shit
what do you mean you're doing your job your engineering the repair of civil roads 😂
Looks like your career has hit a speed bump.
So? Did you honestly think the best job was going to be handed to you on a silver platter when you graduated? Does mommy/daddy also tell you you're very special and a pretty pretty princess? Because now that you're out on your own, you don't seem to have a grasp of reality. Nothing stopped anyone starting out as a waiter or McDonalds employee to stop looking for a job? Why did you? Gave up on life? Poor baby. I hope you don't breed
And I'm a mechanical engineer filling out excel spreadsheets for 8 hours a day. Dw, we'll get to the good stuff soon enough.
It's called an "Entry Level Position", this is how you learn the trade. Book learning often times has very little to do with real world jobs and issues. Do your time in the lower jobs and learn from the guys who have been there doing the higher stuff so you can move up the ladder. That's how reality works. Just earning a degree doesn't mean you get to skip the experience line. Maybe if that was your goal you should have been doing jobs like this part time or during the summer while obtaining that degree so you'd have a little experience already.
I’m a civil engineer as well. I studied water in school, then got a job as a roadway designer fresh out of school and now I’m a traffic modeler. Most of the engineers I work with are not working in the discipline they studied in their undergrad.
