My friend got pulled over once, and the cop came up and didn't even say anything about why she got pulled over, just made her get out of the car. And said that it was suspicious that she was driving her parents car (she's 18) since se didn't tell her why she was pulled over, she politely asked he literally said "because I wanted to" He also told her that driving with flip flops was illegal Which it is not in my state, we checked. He was basically a dick cop who pulled her over for no reason, I was there and the cop was totally in the wrong Some cops abuse their power which sucks and makes the cops who are good look bad.
I agree. However they don't legally need a reason to pull you over. So you shouldn't give them any reason to consider it.
I've heard of people getting pulled over so the cop could have a better look at their car, too bad if we're on our way to work!
No, they don't legally need a reason to pull you over, but this is why it's important to know your rights. And the enormously helpful phrase "am I free to go?" They can't hold you for no reason.
I was unaware that they didn't need a reason, but even so the cop was just being a dick to get the whole time and trying to find a reason to give her a ticket even though she did nothing wrong.
the cop had a reason, your friend probably was hot.
Spread the glory still either way I ticket you would have gotten a ticket if you mentioned his light out or not
Huh? You mean that the officer would've given OP a ticket whether the busted light was pointed out or not? Yeah, you have a point.
what kind of logic is that?
When cops are on duty, they are not bound by the same laws that civilians are. Ex: you can not carry a weapon into a governmental building. A police officer can. When you see a cop speeding down the street (without lights) do you think he won't pull you over if you speed too?
the logic is: OP was breaking the law by driving with a light out. OP got a ticket. its not hard to follow.
Never sass a cop unless you already know you're ******. Most of em are assholes
**** all these down votes. You're 100% right
and out comes all the cop-bashers.... not saying what that one officer did was right, a warning would have worked just as good. I don't know what state you are in but in some jurisdictions, if you show a receipt for the light being fixed, many prosecutors will dismiss the ticket.
Seems to be the case if the repair in question is made within 72 hours or so. The ticket itself should have some information about that.
Should of fined you double.
yeah and some doctors do drugs while working and some fireman are arsonists, priest rape boys. no one profession is perfect.
you must have said that in the most dick way possible. I have never met a cop who doesn't belive in turn about.

Never try to smartass a cop.
