One stop cop shop

Today, I learned that making an illegal U-turn right after you see a cop doing one will not stop said cop from ticketing you. FML

Not if the state law says that all u-turns are illegal. I don't know about California, but in Oregon ALL u-turns are illegal unless there's a sign posted saying otherwise.
