Today, one of the guests I was in the middle of seating knocked an empty wine glass from the table. I assured them it was all right, and kneeled down to pick up the now broken glass. The lady insisted on helping, as far as picking the glass up and dumping the shards into my open hands. FML

it's ok. i've been used as a personal shopping basket. some woman came in and asked for help, and proceeded to dump things she liked into my arms. #1, they've got a real job. uncalled for.

Where else is she supposed to put it? Shards of glass can't cut you by just dropping them into your hand; the glass doesn't weigh enough. What a drama queen.

yea what did you expect her to do? you wouldnt ask her to follow you to the kitchen and throw them away would you?

Yeah, just take the freaking help. It's not like you were cut or harmed or anything-- it's not a big deal. I pick up broken glass all the time with my hands and it's fine as long as you don't squeeze them. Geeze. At least she wasn't a bitchy customer who tried to make it all your fault somehow.

He's a waiter, #9. Waiters clean up after customers. If he can't handle that fact of his job, he should start looking for another one.

how is this a fml. it's your job not her's. she was trying to help you. be grateful. she could've sat there and watch you. i thought she was nice. if you can't handle that fact then quit.

It's your job to do things like that, you should have thanked the person they did a nice thing. I would suggest building a bridge and getting over it

You could get something to put it in next time. Don't let someone tell you what to do even if they're impatient.

its an FML because it probably cut the OP's hands but theres a 300 leter limit and the OP probably couldnt fit that in. So us, as smart people, would assume that if a lady dropped glass shards into your hands that it would cut you. FYL, op, FYL.

um, she dropped the shards of glass into your "open hands." as in you held out your hands for the shards of glass? if they cut you, it was your fault. she was trying to help. you set that one up, bud.

looks like its time to bring out the duct tape
