Can't you tell at least your kid and friend about your situation and ask them to be more considerate?
Tried both. Politely and less so. I ended up putting them both in the garden. that is until the kid ended up with sensory overload as well. On the positive note it kept the friend occupied. Kids suck at realising when they're being loud. Or that their internal monologue is external. Or that playing with a loud toy in their room is still audible. tldr. don't have kids. they're awful
noise canceling ear plugs or headphones
I can't use ear plugs and headphones would require something playing. :/
