Agreed. You shouldn't be having sex with a little girl in the house. Even if she was just downstairs, she could have walked in to tell him and be scarred with terrible images in her head. And at such a young age, trying to get them OUT of her head for the rest of her life, because at the time, she wouldn't understand. So, have it at your own house ar have it when no one is in the house. I'm glad that he cares for her and went to see what was wrong, at least. FYL for being so irresponsible!!!
I disagree. I mean, think about it, they probably locked the door. Duh. And even if she had seen, she probably wouldn't have been permanently scarred. It would be embarrassing and awkward for a while, but it's sex. One day she'll probably grow up and have sex with her husband or boyfriend (or wife or girlfriend even). And I bet you anything that your parents, my parents, and anyone else's parents (if they have them) have had sex while they were little and in the house somewhere. OP, it sucks that your ****** was ruined, but hey, atleast there was no real emergency and your boyfriend is a good big brother. :)
Cactus is right. It sounds like she was plenty old enough to be left alone, and as long as they were quiet then it's fine. Even if she does walk in, it's really not that traumatizing. It might mean that they need to have a slightly awkward conversation, but seeing someone having sex definitely is not going to scar her.
#12, #40 and #56, are you three out of your minds or just didn't grow up and find out about the adult world yet?? "Never do it with a kid in the house"?! What?? By your logic, no one with children could EVER have sex again. (So, all families would have only one kid too anyway, since there's no way to have sex and 'make more babies' after the first...hahaha.) You might want to know your parents had and are still having sex with you in the house, smartassses. The OP and her boyfriend weren't doing anything wrong, they were in the room, presumably behind a locked door, and were doing it discreetly enough that the kid didn't even know what they were doing. (Otherwise, it's doubtful whether she'd still have called them out to replace her batteries... Possible, but the likelihood she didn't know they were having sex is higher.)
That's not the point, you're missing the fact that most the people on this 'site are mature and rational people. We know about emergancies and other problematic (maybe even cataclysmic in some cases), and if we are in an emergancy, most of us here can sort it out. This girl, seeing as she can't change batteries, must be what, 6? In a session of sex, what if the young girl had spotted a fire, would the girl/woman who thinks that she is the culprit in this '**** my Life' story', be annoyed that her intense ****** had been disruppted by a 6 year old girl, that could be in an inevitable and life-threatening situation. Although this did not happen, and yes I am fully aware of this, it is possible. If her brother hadn't of been a mature, responsible, and morally decent person, something could have gone tragically wrong, because someone cares, above the world, about an ******. Ones life, only happens once, an ****** can happen whenever you and your other half feel like having sex.
Just because the sister freaked out because the batteries were dead, does not necessarily mean that she is only about 6 years old. Although it would make sense as she apparently does not know how to change batteries; she could quite easily be 9 or 10 but slightly absent minded/ditzy. And although it IS normal for very young children to play wii and other video games now, i don't think that would quite be the case if the brother is that caring for her as he would probably know it does more harm than good to let very young children play video games.
#80- Because when you were six, no one ever left you alone for twenty minutes? This guy probably knows his little sister well enough to know if she's okay to be by herself for a little while, and he clearly was still within earshot. And what makes you think she was six? She could have been 8 or 10--girls that age are annoying as hell, and would totally yell about something like being out of batteries. Heck, maybe she was a teenager and just wanted to cockblock her brother for ***** and giggles.
Lets forget about the whole 'aged 6' thing then. The girl is now older, nevertheless, if it was a fire, one 10 year old girl is not going to have the most direct view of what to do at this point, and it COULD lead to cataclysmic events, I am not saying that she is completely void of intelligence, but it is a possibility, anything like this could happen. And beyond six, she could deal with a video game, she was playing a Wii, which is manifactured by Nintendo. And if you've ever had a handheld console/gaming device, a gamecube, something as ancient as a SNES or NES, you will know that Nintendo, when put with all the major games companies that exist today, are very, very family friendly. I would not be surprised if a six year old girl was playing something like Rayman Raving Rabbids, or something like Carnival Games. And to number 89: In all seriousness, who the **** said it was 20 minutes? It could be an hour-when someone is occupied (even if it is a video game), someone could play it for an hour easily. And what if the girl had been playing the Wii and her selection of games for a long time, she probably doesn't need help with the game and so never asked them for help. But when a problem arises that she doesn't know how to fix, it could be any emergency. It could be a fire, a burglar, a creepy old man watching her with binoculars. If this woman is annoyed because her ****** was interuppted by a possible life-threatening situation, who the **** is she? That would be very, very arrogant of her. And is she getting annoyed because her boyfriend stopped laying her, and showed most people on this 'site that he is a mature and responsible person? He came down when there was an emergency, not when there was a possibility. I am not saying that he shouldn't have left the girl playing her video game for two hours, three hours, four! All I am saying is that this woman should not think that her life is utterly ****** because her 'intense ******' was ended because of a possibility of something very bad. It might have even just been a fire, but fires do grow, and because it's a small emergency shouldn't she tell her mature brother because his girlfriend is having the ALL IMPORTANT intense ******? I think not. I will repeat it again: Ones life, only happens once, an ****** can happen whenever you and your other half feel like having sex.
@ 116: He's the brother not the dad...why can't he have sex during the day? @OP: That IS an emergency!^^
I rest my case. ^^
Look, some of y'all are just dense as hell & very immature it seems. Yes, it was not right for a little girl to be downstairs by herself. Who said she was? Just because the brother ran down doesn't mean there wasn't anyone else there, it means he's a good brother & as soon as he heard his sister might be in trouble he hit the floor running. Get real people, you don't think anyone has sex in the house with kids there, hell chances are on of your parents are in the bed right now while you post about how bad that is......I'm not saying it's right, there's just circumstances where it's more acceptable than not. Finally, you all seem to be assuming that OP wrote a fml because he ran for a emergency....she wrote it after the matter knowing it was over batteries...that's the point. I'm pretty damn sure if it had been a real emergency we wouldn't be sitting here reading a fml about it would we. In the end there's a looooot of what if's in this story. I just think it's pretty damn childish for all you people trying to make them out to be monsters or childish themselves....
Actually, I think you'll find that IS an emergency. There's nothing more annoying that the Wii-mote running out of battery power right in the middle of the game.
I'm concerned for the little girl. you guys are assholes
I'm concerned for your parents, do you also cockblock them into not having sex ever again because your sorry ass is in the house?? Having kids in the house doesn't means you can't lock the door and have sex in the privacy of your bedroom, dude. Otherwise, no married couple could ever have sex again, DUH.
YDI for having sex while little sister is at home
Come on (pun intended), you can have an ****** anytime. If you don't get the Wiimote's battery changed soon, Mario could die. MARIO COULD DIE!!!!
Mmhmm. It's that 100th time that always matters.
The 100th ******?
It'd be funny if he ran down there with a raging hard-on and the kid said, "Thanks, but the Wiimote needs double-A's, not those little watch button batteries."
OP: At least you got to finish! Everyone saying YDI: If they were being discreet about it (ie, being quiet, locking the door, etc.), I see no problem with their having sex with his little sister in the house, so long as she is actually old enough to be left alone, which she clearly was. Walking in on an older sibling isn't traumatizing--just super awkward.
Agreed. Why the hell should they not have sex just because the sister was within a mile's radius of them? I mean, really now!
It was his own sister, not the OP's. And yeah, any decent human being would care more about the well-being of an immediate family member than pleasuring someone.

at least he's caring?? in case it really had been an emergency?
well, he was being a responsible brother I guess..
