I, too, have my learners permit and live in Texas, and its illegal for the person in the passenger seat to be intoxicated while you are driving.
That's illegal. The person with you has to be sober & alert! You could all lose your licenses & they can end up in jail. Don't do that again. Just refuse!
And then you drive off giving Harry Hitchhiker a ride to avoid trouble from the cops and let your parents learn its not cool to use you as a way for them to get wasted
designated driver sucks, no one wants to sit there and not drink while friends (in this case parents) get drunk. You should have left & called them a taxi. That would teach them. xD
That's probably the reason you were conceived! They've been waiting 16 years for this! ;)
That's very illegal
Is this an N or an L we're talking about here? 'Cause if it's an L you can stop that shit from happening again by pointing out that the 'supervisor' passenger must not ONLY have a valid license, but ALSO be under the legal BA limit. There's a guy around here that was thrown in jail and had his license suspended for 3 months because he was over the legal limit when his grandson was driving. Which is pretty much bull considering they do not list ANYWHERE that the passenger has to be sober-- I mean, it makes sense, they're supposed to be supervising/teaching the new driver, but if you don't actually have any way for people to know about this rule they should only get a warning or a ticket for a first offense, not a suspended license and jail time. But next time your parents pull this on you, casually drive over to the nearest checkpoint you can find... they won't be trying that shit any more.
in the state where i live (Pennsylvania), all thats required for a learner's permit is basic road knowledge and thats it, actual driving doesn't kick in until the road test (in order to get your license), thats illegal, you need a sober supervising driver to guide you, i'm surprised that they would do that to you...
I'm not being serious, but if that was me I'd take the car for a joy ride..

Pretty sure it's still illegal, since you only have a permit and not a license. They're suppose to be instructing you, not using you. Parents these days.
Just wait until you become the errand boy. Fun times...
