Party time!

Today, I finally got my driver's permit. To celebrate, my parents decided to go to a bar and make me wait in the car because I'm now the designated driver. FML

Pretty sure it's still illegal, since you only have a permit and not a license. They're suppose to be instructing you, not using you. Parents these days.

Just wait until you become the errand boy. Fun times...

then dont just wait outside. go some where drive car and enjoy driving alone for the first time :)

Except that's illegal. A permit isn't a license. Someone with a permit must have a SOBER adult over 21 who was had a license for at least a year. No matter what OP does its illegal (unless he says no and doesn't drive his parents, obviously)

I'd suggest you leave them there, but my understanding of a permit is that there has to be an adult in the car with you. And if what other folks say is true, then your folks are breaking the law.

You couldn't even come inside for a coke or something? FYL OP that sucks lol

If its a bar then anyone under the drinking age cant enter.....even if they are just having a coke( so in the US anyone under 21 cant enter). Which is why they check ID at the door for the safety of the establishment so that they don't accidentally serve alcohol to minors.

Depends on the state. Some states still allow minors in the bar, they just can't be served alcohol.

In Wisconsin, minors are allowed in bars and sometimes can drink if their parent or legal guardian is with them.

#88, sometimes? If you're not drinking, you're loitering. Wisconsin is the drunkest state in the nation, and they didn't get that way letting kids off easy. Ya hey!

Given how much your car insurance is inevitably costing them, you will probably never be able to render enough chauffeur service to make a dent on your debt. You might if there's vomit clean-up involved.

I would of drove home and left them there. Walking builds character.

Yeah that's illegal they aren't allowed to be intoxicated.

yeah if its only a permit that is illegal for them to be intoxicated

Now what would they do when you turn 21? You'll find something to celebrate...
