@263 At my school which is also in the UK had the option of leaving at 4th year but it was generally considered as leaving early as our 5th and sixth year were still part of high school, just shows you how different the school system is across the UK. I see what you are saying bout the educational thing but people who are very educated can be extremely condascending and can make silly decisions like OP's "mother" is doing. I suppose there is always the possibility they are in love......nah i dont buy that either.
