I am in the same boat as you. All my life I've had mostly guy friends and, when I developed feelings for one, he told me I was one of the guys and he could never see himself dating me. A few years later I start hanging out with another group of guys, one of which I have had a crush on for a year. I'm "too much like one of the guys" to be of any interest. so instead, he got back together with his cheating bitch of an ex-girlfriend.
